22 And Older

Our SSAs help adults develop an Individual Service Plan (ISP) and determine what they want out of life. Activities to consider include part or full-time employment, volunteering, post-secondary education, personal relationships, Advocacy training, Special Olympics programs and residential options (including Intermediate Care Facilities and information contained in the DODD Electronic ICF Informational Booklet)

Supports for Adults:

Advocacy

Preble DD encourages the people we serve to learn more about speaking up and making informed decisions in their lives. Our Advocacy Club members gain the skills they need to become their own best advocates.

LifeCourse Tools

Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) was originally created by the University of Missouri-Kansas City Institute for Human Development, Missouri's UCEDD (University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities). We have modified it to help those we serve determine their definition of a fulfilled life.

Residential Living

There are a wide variety of residential service options for adults with developmental disabilities in Preble County. From looking for a new home to finding extra support around the home, our SSAs help adults find the right option for them. SSAs coordinate residential supports, which are provided by our provider partner agencies.

Some of the residential options available include shared living, in-home support, adult family living and assistive technology and remote support services. Options are also available through Intermediate Care facilities  and Electronic ICF Informational Booklet

Employment Training & Support

In Preble County, people with developmental disabilities can explore a variety of careers. We collaborate with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and local service providers to create successful experiences for the person and the business.
